Arteas Ancient Art is led by Laura Bosc de Ganay, expert in Mediterranean archaeology and ancient art. Since 2003, the gallery has been buying, selling, appraising and inventorying Egyptian, Greek, Roman and Near Eastern antiquities for private collectors, families and institutions, in Paris and across Europe.
Archaeology of the Mediterranean basin, from the Bronze Age to Late Antiquity: stone, terracotta, bronze and glass artefacts, studied through their archaeological context, typology and published parallels. Every object is documented with its dating, material, condition and provenance.
Egyptian antiquities from the Predynastic period to the Roman era: ushabtis, amulets, scarabs, canopic jars, funerary reliefs, bronzes of deities, statues and statuettes, sarcophagus fragments and vessels. Particular attention is paid to old French and European collections.
Greek art from the Geometric period to the Hellenistic age: black-figure and red-figure vases, Attic and Magna Graecia pottery, Tanagra terracottas, marble sculpture, bronzes, jewellery and coins, chosen for their quality of execution and state of preservation.
Roman art of the Republic and the Empire: marble portraits and statues, funerary and votive reliefs, bronzes, glass, oil lamps, intaglios, rings and everyday objects that document daily life in the Roman world.
Arts of the Near East: Sumerian, Babylonian, Assyrian, Levantine, Anatolian and Persian works, including cylinder seals, votive statuettes, cuneiform tablets, ceramics and bronzes.
